Meet Alison

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (based in Florida, USA)

There is something to be said for life experience and the courage to be vulnerable. In addition to my several years of postgraduate qualifications and licensure, I am also a mother of two; have gone through my own personal journeys including postpartum depression with my first child; being raised by a single mother that had significant mental illness; and other aspects that ultimately led me on my own path of learning, self-discovery, and how to help others. I feel that the best helpers are ones that have gone through something similar and can resonate with you - rather than solely learning from a book.

With that said, are you struggling to find YOUR "better"?

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over ten years of experience within the USA and Australia. I have worked in hospitals, private practice, clinics, and educational settings, working with individuals, couples, families and groups across the lifespan. I have also developed and facilitated training programs for hospitals, schools, and employers relating to mental health.

I have found in my many years of practice, that an over-arching theme is a lack of clarity in regard to what we are feeling, and what has to change in order to identify 'better.' This is relevant in every aspect of our lives; communication, relationship with the self and others; goals, overall wellbeing, anxiety, depression... you name it! I have been told that I am very warm, approachable, empathic... qualities that are essential for building rapport and helping someone feel safe to be vulnerable to talk about things that they may not be able to talk to anyone else about. Everything we discuss is confidential.*

I have a lot of experience working with trauma; including assisting first responders, asylum seekers, refugees, and victims of domestic and family violence. I am also passionate about working with women and families experiencing post and antenatal depression and anxiety.

I am also adept in working in the coaching space, working with manager support, coaching, and EAP, as well as critical incident support.

So, what are you waiting for? Take the next step and make an appointment today to start your journey toward your own BETTER...
